Musicians, actors, dancers and fine artists perform very complex activities under demanding circumstances. The Alexander Technique gives the performer the tools to meet those demands, a reliable way to reduce unnecessary tension and the associated effects of nervousness, technique problems or pain. Your teacher will encourage you to keep a set of guiding principles in mind during private practice, group rehearsal and performance to promote endurance, and help you access new reserves of power and expression. For performing artists, the Technique is a means for finding an inner balance so that performance can flow with less effort.

Today the Alexander Technique is taught in many prestigious institutions including the Juilliard School, the American Dance Festival and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. It has helped artists of every kind, including Yehudi Menuhin, Paul McCartney, Kevin Klein, Robin Williams and Mary Steenburgen.
